In 1958, Patricia Bays Haroski led the charge to inaugurate a new national day of recognition, Boss's Day. Inspired by her boss at State Farm Insurance in Chicago, Patricia felt that great bosses were so influential that they deserved recognition. She seemingly was on to something, as the day is now not only observed in the United States, but in many diverse countries such as India and Australia.
Experts tell us that all great bosses share similar traits. If your boss is someone who is inspirational and motivational, come to Ron & Alicia Robinson Florist for the perfect gift of appreciation. Read More about Flowers & Plants for Boss’s Day »

Homecoming weekend has a long and colorful history, dating back to 1910. We can thank the athletic director at the University of Missouri for his vision. He decided to invite past alumni "back home" to watch the football game against rival University of Kansas, perhaps to fill the stands. Little did he know that over 10,000 past students would flock back to the event, which also included speeches, rallies and a parade.
Over the years, more events have been added to individual school's traditions, although most weekend still revolve around a football game.Common activities include spirit rallies, tailgating parties, the crowning of the Homecoming Court, and of course - the homecoming dance. If you are attending your own formal dance and need flowers, Ron & Alicia Robinson Florist is here to design the perfect corsage and boutonniere for the event. Surely, two of the most satisfying experiences in life must be those of being a grandchild or a grandparent.
~Donald A. Norberg
When Marian McQuade sent the draft of a bill to Congress, asking for the institution of National Grandparents Day, she had a distinct vision as to what the purpose of the day should be. The West Virginia mother of 15 (and grandmother to many more) wanted a time set aside to honor traditions and family history as communicated by the older generations. She also felt it was an effective way to encourage families to gather often to share and learn from each other. In 1978, Congress agreed, and the first Sunday after Labor Day was designated. This year, Grandparents Day falls on September 10. If you are looking for beautiful flowers and plants to honor these special people, look no further than Ron & Alicia Robinson Florist. National Friendship Day was established by Congress in 1935, and it was determined that the new holiday would fall on the first Sunday in August. The day set aside to celebrate one of life's most important relationships didn't catch on in the U.S. as well as it did around the world. Still, millions of people do take this annual opportunity to give accolades to their best friends.
Did You Know? August 6 is also National Sisters Day, and since our best friends and our sisters can be the same person, that seems only appropriate! Read More about Best Friends & Sisters Have Their Day »

Of all the seasonal flowers, the summer hydrangea may be one of the least appreciated.
